The B List: Mixed Media Paper

Mixed media paper lovers, raise your hands! (Imagine a room full!)
Forget canvas pressure. Paper's liberating. I love big rolls, cut to size, tacked up. Gesso for texture, or paint raw – the freedom's amazing. My best work often starts on paper. It's my warm-up, my playground.
Strathmore and Canson, 90 or 140 lbs., are my go-tos. More sturdy than watercolor paper, it's versatile and handles anything from acrylics to collage.
Matted and framed, it's sophisticated art! (This is what hangs in my living room.)
B-List Tip: Get the roll. Paint BIG. Play. Let's get messy!
We work on roll paper and roll canvas in every Abstract Studio workshop. Join me this year!
