I've been finishing my art with RF pigment sticks with their luscious, creamy texture that integrates beautifully with acrylic painting. It's like the vibrant frosting on my artistic cake. Catherine also uses the biggest, fattest pigments sticks, swiping on with hands. Photo from her studio.
Apply these pure, intense oil colors atop your dried acrylic layers, adding gestural marks, rich textures, and focused pops of chroma that acrylics alone might lack. Their buttery consistency allows for direct application, expressive blending, and even impasto-like effects, providing a tactile and visually dynamic contrast to the flatter surfaces of acrylic.
Note: These are oil paints in a stick form, can be layered over acrylics, but acrylics should not be layered over R&F Pigment Sticks. They are compatible with acrylics and other mediums like tube oils, gouaches, watercolors, oil-based colored pencils, cold wax and encaustics.
For a hands-on experience, discover sample kits (half-size sticks) and comprehensive color series at your art store or grab it here at the B.Todd Amazon Storefront. |
