My Art Experiement Went Sideways. But It's Good News for YOU!

Two weeks back, I spilled my guts about ditching those monstrous, soul-crushing goals and embracing the magic of tiny experience experiments. You know, those little leaps that take the pressure off and let you rediscover the sheer joy of play. I even shared my own experiment, the 4x10 challenge: four hours of studio time, ten days straight.
🦋 Day one? Pure magic.
Four-plus hours flew by, four pieces finished! It felt like a win, a validation of the tiny experiment philosophy. Then, life, as it so often does, decided to throw a curveball. Boom. Studio time? Nope. Not happening.
And you know what? That's okay. Because here's the real, messy, beautiful truth: s*** happens. Life happens.
🧰 But the work? It still needs to move forward. |
So, instead of paint on canvas, I painted the bathroom. (Yes, the bathroom!)
Then, I organized and spring-cleaned the studio, prepping it for the vibrant energy of upcoming workshops.
And, I dove headfirst into writing new curriculum, shaping experiences for you, for us.
🌀In those seemingly "non-art" tasks, I found momentum.
I found that the power of those small, focused efforts, even if they weren't the ones I initially planned, were propelling me forward. They were prepping the soil for a new season, a season of growth and connection at Santa Fe Artist Getaway. |
Because, let's be real, this isn't just about me.
✨ It's about you. ✨
It's about creating a space where your creativity can flourish, where you can play, experiment, and become the artist you're meant to be. That's why Santa Fe Artist Getaway was created.
And speaking of journeys, our first workshop, Abstract Studio: Deep Work, is just three weeks away. Deep, immersive, transformative work. You won't want to miss it.
From April through October you have the opportunity to join me here, in the heart of Santa Fe, to dive into the art, the creativity, and the community. |
Remember, even when life throws its curveballs, there's always a way to keep moving, to keep creating, to keep growing.
Sometimes, it's painting the bathroom. Sometimes, it's something entirely unexpected. But it's always, always worth it.
🌈 Here's to showing up, even when it's messy, and finding the magic in the unexpected.
With boundless inspiration, Beverly Todd |
