Discover the limitless potential of mixed media on paper. Whether your passion lies in landscape, portraiture, abstraction, realism, or expressive mark-making, this workshop will deepen your understanding of materials and expand your creative process. The techniques and insights you’ll gain can be translated into any subject matter or personal style. Through daily demonstrations, you’ll explore a wide range of papers, acrylic paints, mediums, and drawing materials. Stacy shares her process for layering, experimenting, and developing dynamic surfaces rich in depth and texture. You’ll learn to embrace spontaneity while gaining the technical foundation to work confidently and intentionally in mixed media. This intimate workshop is the perfect balance of group connection and focused individual attention. Ample time each day to work on your own projects, receive one-on-one feedback, and benefit from the support and dialogue of the group. Studio Raven has abundant wall space, allowing you to work large or in a series of smaller pieces. You’ll Learn: ● Understanding Paper Types: Explore how various papers respond to wet and dry materials and how to select the best surface for your vision. ● Material Interactions: Gain confidence working with different mixed media combinations on paper. ● Layering with Confidence: Develop an open, exploratory mindset to embrace the unexpected. ● Problem-Solving in Mixed Media: Learn how to respond intuitively to your evolving work. ● Techniques for Expressive Surfaces: Push the boundaries of what paper can do using acrylics, mediums, and drawing materials. You’ll leave with new techniques, a deeper understanding of your materials, and the confidence to approach paper as a limitless, expressive surface. Limited to 9 students. Registration: $1,800 + 7.124% tax. Includes some supplies, lunch and welcome reception. Students are responsible for transportation, lodging & some supplies. Keeping your financial information secure is absolutely our top priority. Please contact us if you prefer to pay by check or money order • A minimum of 9 students is required per workshop. If the minimum is not met 30 days before the start date, the workshop may be cancelled. Students will be notified via email. A full refund will be issued. It is recommended that student not make non-refundable travel or lodging arrangement prior to 30 days • If Santa Fe Artists Getaway cancels the workshop for any reason, students shall receive a full refund • Student cancellations must be submitted in writing, and received by btoddarts@gmail.com • Cancellations made 31 days before the first day of class receive a full refund, less a $200 processing fee • Any cancellations made 30 days or less in advance of the first day will receive no refund, unless there is a wait list and another student takes that place; then the student shall receive a full refund less a $200 processing fee • No refund, credits or transfers will be applied on or after the workshop start date • No refund, credit or make-up will be offered for missed days • A $200 fee will be charged on all returned checks
