A painting intensive designed for alumni (artists who have studied with Jane) and advanced artists ready to push their work into deeper, more authentic territory. You will move beyond the basics, focusing on how paintings develop, evolve, and reach completion through a blend of spontaneous execution and critical evaluation. Experience new challenges, demonstrations, small-group marketing discussions, and both individual and group critiques. In a supportive, judgment-free environment, Jane guides you to move past fear and self-doubt to find your most honest artistic language. Come prepared to paint big, experiment boldly, and refine your unique voice. What to Expect: Deep Practice: Ample personal painting time with individualized guidance and technical demonstrations. Critical Growth: Daily group discussions, meaningful critiques, and small-group marketing sessions. Creative Breakthroughs: Proven strategies to get unstuck, loosen up, and eliminate the inhibitions holding your work back. Authentic Expression: Exploration of multiple working methods to help you recognize when to stop and when to push forward. She holds a degree in Fine Art with an emphasis in painting, studying under renowned artists Wayne Thiebaud, Robert Arneson, and Roy DeForest. Her creative career began in graphic design, eventually shifting into marketing and management. In 2000, Jane returned to her artistic roots, sculpting larger-than-life abstract figurative forms in clay. During a 2014 artist residency in Canada, Jane picked up her paintbrush again, first exploring figurative works, then delving into abstraction. Jane brings fiery creative passion to her workshops, sharing her ideas and inspiration with artists at all levels. Her teaching style is relaxed, engaging, and hands-on.
