Advance writing assignments will help you and Krista both know more about your practice, goals, strengths, and fears. Workshop focuses on: • Who you are, what you do, and why you do it. • Creating an environment for interactive conversations, experimentation, growth, and deep connection with your practice. • Daily exercises to loosen up, help you focus, and utilize all your senses. • Afternoons for individual painting time. • Honest feedback and sharing with peers. • Discussions on materials, tools, techniques, and the roles they play in developing and defining your work. • Critiques, and a one-on-one session with Krista. Participants will receive materials and assignments in advance to prepare for the workshop. Studio Raven and Studio Gray Fox allow ample space for working large and on multiple pieces at once. Krista Harris www.kristaharris.com A career-level artist whose gestural, abstract painting are richly layered with mark and medium, sharing a love of both drawing and painting. She thinks of her work as maps or environments, exploring the imperfect, fleeting changes between the natural and the man-made worlds. There is nothing frugal about her paintings; instead, they are richly layered, sensually manipulated surfaces which seem to live and breathe. Concealing as much as they reveal, and weaving together gestural, energetic marks and fields of color, the opposing forces lure you in.
