Embark on a 10-day captivating artistic voyage as we blend the enchantment of travel in France with the expressive world of art. You’ll learn how to see, translate, and capture the full experience – from charming villages to sun-kissed vineyards, to the intimate moments of everyday life. Throughout the workshop, you’ll be guided by Beverly Todd, an experienced artist who has mastered the craft of visual storytelling. Each day will be a fusion of art instruction and immersive travel, allowing you to create art that tells a story of your own personal journey. No prior art experience necessary – just a curious spirit and a desire to explore the boundless connection between “a sense of place” and art. Whether you’re a seasoned artist looking for new inspiration or a novice eager to discover your creative side, this workshop promises to be an unforgettable experience. You’ll leave with more than art; you’ll take home a piece of France’s beauty and charm forever etched onto your canvas. In this “visual storytelling workshop”, you’ll: • Develop “creative rituals” that prepare your heart, mind, hands, and space for artmaking. • Gather story elements through journaling. Learn how to collect, sort and curate all the beautiful things around you, as well as your thoughts and emotions, into a story. • Explore expressive mark-making and symbolism. • Create your story’s color palette based on the French landscape, and learn how to mix and paint with a limited color palette. • Alter images and include found objects in your art. • Paint in a series with each work linking to the next. • Explore and grow your unique visual voice. • Create abstractly, with the inclusion of marks, symbols, sketches, and objects… in other words you’ll mix your media. • Work in an art journal. Make an art concertina. And paint on mixed media paper. • Travel with a portable studio painting with water-based mediums (watercolor, acrylic, pencils, and markers). A supply list will be provided with everything fitting into your luggage. • Learn how to see, experience, and be in the world as an artist. Cancellation Policy

Payment and Refund Policy • Enrollment is only guaranteed with registration and full payment • We use PayPal and QuickBooks for your online payment and refunds. Keeping your financial information secure is absolutely our top priority. Please contact us if you prefer to pay by check or money order • A minimum of 10 students is required per workshop. If the minimum is not met 30 days before the start date, the workshop may be cancelled. Students will be notified via email. A full refund will be issued. It is recommended that student not make non-refundable travel or lodging arrangement prior to 30 days • If Santa Fe Artists Getaway cancels the workshop for any reason, students shall receive a full refund • Student cancellations must be submitted in writing, and received by btoddarts@gmail.com • Cancellations made 31 days before the first day of class receive a full refund, less a $100 processing fee • Any cancellations made 30 days or less in advance of the first day will receive no refund, unless there is a wait list and another student takes that place; then the student shall receive a full refund less a $100 processing fee • No refund, credits or transfers will be applied on or after the workshop start date • No refund, credit or make-up will be offered for missed days • A $100 fee will be charged on all returned checks
