A comprehensive, deep diving, overview of applying the philosophy that your art is a manifestation of what you observe (eyes) combined with your emotional response (heart) and the expression of it with your hand. Learn to develop your skill as a painter in this four-day intensive where you will dig deeper into how to express your subjects using this intuitive approach. This workshop is for artists interested in the landscape, whether sweeping vistas, or close subjects. All mediums welcome! My expertise is in pastel and oil, but the principles of composition, color, temperature and value are universal. We will explore materials, methods and ways to represent your subject that will allow you voice its own unique quality. Through demonstration, discussion and abundant studio time, you will be learning your personal path toward being the one-of-a-kind artist that you are. As my former students attest to, my singular goal is to have you leave a better artist, a better version of YOU. Some prior knowledge of the medium is required, however, weekenders, hobbyists as well as professionals will all gain personal power and artistic awareness in this opportunity. Max participants: 10 Registration includes lunch and refreshments. Natasha Isenhour https://natashaisenhour.com/ New Mexico resident of 23 years, Natasha Isenhour captures her emotional response to the landscape with a contemporary expressionistic style in both oil and pastel. While from a distance a first impression is the realistic feeling of the work, but a closer looks reveals a contemporary edge where her mark-making controls the impressions of mass and delicacy. Participating in numerous plein air events throughout the year informs her studio work through the on-site study of value and color temperature as it can only be seen with the eye.
