As artists we recognize the importance of identifying a special time and place to fully immerse ourselves into our art. This workshop meets that calling and provides a supportive place to be fully engaged in your abstract journey. Mornings begin with short meditations – providing a journey inward that opens you up to a steady, growing energy that will fuel your work. Creative exercises push you into new challenges and outcomes. Open, self-directed paint time continues into the afternoon with one-on-one coaching. Teacher painting demos explore composition, color choices, special tools and new techniques. Learn ways to balance and toggle between critical thinking and authentic expression. Learn to celebrate (so-called) failures and transform them into curiosity and exploration. Best of all, go home feeling energized and fully confident to take your art to a new level. Come enjoy five full studio days focused on painting with one-on-one coaching to address individual challenges and art career goals. Registration: $1,450. Lunch & refreshments included. Workshop begins Wednesday, Oct. 6, 3:30 PM, with a meet-and-greet, continues Oct. 7-11, 9 AM to 5 PM. For advanced students. Send your name & web site link to firstname.lastname@example.org. You’ll receive instructions on portfolio review. Review opens May 1-15. With notification May 30. Upon selection, you’ll receive payment information from Santa Fe Artist Getaway. Audrey Phillips www.audreyphillips.com Delicately balanced between expressive chaos and a palatable sense of calm, the paintings of Audrey Phillips draw you in to explore the rich complexity of her work and life. Working primarily from an internal place of intuition and exploration, Phillips approaches her large canvases with the spirit of play, unburdened to the attachment of outcome, allowing the painting surface to simply and freely come. Her work has been collected by CSX Freight Corporation, Baptist Health MD Anderson Cancer Center, Castlelake, Anheiser-Busch, Marriott and other corporate collections. In 2019, the University of Tampa acquired a large permanent collection of 54 of her paintings, which can be seen at the newly renovated Southard Family Building. Audrey lives in Central Florida. She received a BFA from the University of Florida. She teaches immersive abstract workshops across the country.
